As is the case this time of year, the Patriots are doing some work in case of emergency by working out players.

According to ESPN's Mike Reiss, the team had five players in on Friday. They were wide receiver Deontay Burnett, wide receiver Amara Darboh, wide receiver Anthony Johnson, wide receiver Spencer Schnell and quarterback Mike White.

Darboh is the biggest name, as he was selected in the third round of the 2017 NFL draft by the Seahawks. The Patriots actually claimed him off waivers last year, but was waived two days with a failed physical designation. He reverted back to the Seahawks' injured reserve. He was released this summer.

Given the uncertainty at the wide receiver position, it isn't a major surprise to see the team team bring in four wide outs.
