Patriots reportedly worked out 5 players recently

As is always the case this time of year, the Patriots are doing their homework in case of emergency.

According to multiple reports, the team worked out five players recently, including another offensive lineman. They were offensive lineman Caleb Benenoch, defensive lineman Carl Davis, defensive lineman Willie Henry, defensive back Josh Jones and defensive back Adarius Pickett.

Given the injury to Marcus Cannon last week and questions overall with David Andrews being out for the season, Benenoch is the most notable.

The 25-year-old was drafted in the fifth round of the 2016 NFL draft by the Buccaneers and can play both inside and outside. He started all 16 games for Tampa last year. Given his experience, he's received a decent amount of interest around the league and the Patriots are not the only team to meet with him.

No signings are imminent, but it's just the team building lists for the future due to injury.
