Like many around the NFL, Peyton Manning seemed a little surprised by Tom Brady signing with the Buccaneers last month as a free agent.
Appearing on SportsCenter Sunday, Manning reacted to Brady going to Tampa Bay.
"Well, that was interesting," he said. "I've talked to Tom at different times, but never really about that actual decision. He seems happy, he seems excited. I'm a little surprised he jumped over to the NFC. I always see Tom Brady as an AFC guy, so he's going to have to go through initiation to learn the ropes of the NFC."
Manning has some idea of what Brady is going through joining another team late in his career after he signed with the Broncos after many years with the Colts.
The two are friendly with one another, so it's actually a little surprising to hear they did not talk about Brady's decision given Manning went through something similar.
Brady's Buccaneers have the fifth-best odds in the entire league to win the Super Bowl next season.
