Pro Football Focus: Patriots selection of Chase Winovich one of steals in NFL draft

The Patriots' most impactful rookie in 2019 may be third-round pick defensive end Chase Winovich out of Michigan.

The edge rusher put up great numbers at Michigan the last few years, and many believe he can contribute from the start. Pro Football Focus seems to be backing that up, as it deemed him one of the "steals" of the entire draft.

Winovich was selected No. 77 overall, but was No. 29 on PFF's big board.

Here's what it wrote about him: Winovich had back-to-back 90.0-plus graded seasons at Michigan and tested out as an elite athlete at the combine. At that point, there are not too many question marks in our eyes. His on-field play compared to teammate Rashan Gary at this point isn’t even close.

In four seasons at Michigan, he finished with 166 tackles, 43 for loss, and 18.5 sacks.
