Albeit a small one, the Red Sox have made a move at the winter meetings.
According to Alex Speier of the Boston Globe, the Red Sox have agreed to terms with veteran outfielder Gorkys Hernandez on a minor league deal. If he reaches the majors, he'd have a $1 million salary.
Hernandez, 31, hit .234 with 15 homers and 40 RBI for the Giants last year. The right-handed hitter has a career batting average .234 and has spent time with three teams -- the Giants, Pirates and Marlins.
The veteran can play every outfield position.
Hernandez doesn't really impact anything with the big league club and should be viewed purely as a depth player.
