It appears the reported tension in Foxboro is real.
According to NBC Sports Boston's Mike Giardi, Bill Belichick is making "planet players" miserable, and a lot of it is related to the Alex Guerrero issue. These players "don't feel appreciated for the sacrifice they make." He adds the "planet players" are Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski.
This goes right in line with what happened on social media this week.
In Gronkowski's good bye to Danny Amendola, Gronkowski wrote, "Stay lit, Be FREE, Be HAPPY" with the emphasis on free and happy. Brady commented on the post and said, "Well said gronk!!!!" The free and happy part likely alludes to the culture Belichick has created.
It doesn't appear this will impact both players returning in 2018, although Giardi adds it seems like Gronkowski will end up with a new contract.
The notion that Belichick needs to win back the locker room appears real, especially when the leaders are the ones most upset.
