While it appears Rob Gronkowski will play in 2018, it doesn't mean everything is all good between he and Bill Belichick.
According to ESPN's Jeff Darlington, it is "pretty certain" Gronkowski will come back next season as long as Tom Brady remains with the team.
Of course, the tight end hasn't committed to playing next year following his comments after Super Bowl LII. Part of the reason Gronkowski is considering retiring is because of "some mental fatigue from the high-strung culture" within the Patriots organization.
The report adds there are lingering frustrations between Gronkowski and Belichick, along with others in the organization.
One of the things Belichick is frustrated with is Gronkowski's Instagram post following Danny Amendola signing with the Dolphins when within the post he wrote, "Be FREE, Be HAPPY."
Finally, the report says if Gronkowski commits to 2018 the existing friction between the two will probably ease.
Based on everything we know, as soon as Gronkowski officially says he's playing next season everything will likely go away.
