The Patriots are not quite done before taking almost a month off.
According to ESPN's Mike Reiss, the team and long snapper Joe Cardona have agreed on a four-year contract extension. He was scheduled to be a free agent following the 2018 season.
Cardona has been with the Patriots since 2015 when he was selected in the fifth round out of Navy.
The long snapper is a model teammate and has earned the respect of his peers. He, punter/holder Ryan Allen and kicker Stephen Gostkowski have great chemistry, which likely only added to the move making sense.
