It appears the Patriots are doing their due diligence on a pretty good player.
According to NFL Media's Ian Rapoport, the Patriots worked out former Falcons defensive tackle Ra'Shede Hageman, who is a free agent after being suspended and then released last year. Hageman was placed on the Commissioner's Exempt List as a result of domestic violence charge following a March 2016 incident involving a former girlfriend.
He didn't play in a single game in 2017.
When on the field, he's a very productive player as the former second-round pick in 2014 has 40 career tackles and four career sacks.
While it doesn't seem like a signing of him is imminent, it's always good for the team to get a read on the player if the need were to occur. It's also worth wondering if other teams will work him out now that the Patriots have.
