Whenever a player randomly pops up on the injury report during the week there usually is some cause for concern, but there doesn't appear to be any with Rob Gronkowski, who appeared on the injury report Thursday with an ankle injury.
“My understanding is Gronk was limited because he just wanted to take it easy [Thursday] on that ankle," NFL Media's Ian Rapoport said on NFL Network Friday morning. "Nothing concerning here as for as his overall health and my understanding for his availability on Sunday. We’ll see whether or not Gronk goes out and practices [Friday] and how much he can actually do. But, the overall view on this is that it is nothing to be worried about.”
In two games this season, Gronkowski has nine catches for 138 yards and a touchdown.
The Patriots will take on the Lions Sunday night in Detroit.
