It doesn't appear the Patriots will be able to sway tight end Jared Cook out of his commitment to the Saints.
According to NBC Sports' Peter King, Cook will remained committed to the Saints.
It was reported Sunday he chose New Orleans over the Patriots because of having a better chance of being the No. 1 tight end. This of course came prior to Rob Gronkowski's retirement announcement, so some thought the Patriots could make another run at him since he hasn't officially signed his deal.
The Patriots will now likely look to the trade market or through the draft for tight ends, as there really aren't many solid free agent options left.
Current Patriots tight ends under contract for 2019 are Jacob Hollister, Stephen Anderson, Ryan Izzo and Matt LaCosse.
