Following Friday's ESPN story, a lot has been made of the relationship between Tom Brady, Robert Kraft and Bill Belichick.
Relating to the trade of Jimmy Garoppolo and potentially moving on from Brady, Kraft has always referred to Brady as his fifth son, while Belichick has always had the mentality of moving on from a player a year early opposed to a year late.
Speaking on Westwood One Radio with Jim Gray Saturday, Brady commented on his relationship with both of Belichick and Kraft.
"I am not going to answer for them. I think you can speak to them or however they want to answer that is fine with them and how they characterize our relationship," he said. "I characterize my relationship with Mr. Kraft as very much the same way. He's a great person, man. He's been like a second father to me in so many ways. I have a great relationship with Coach Belichick. We've worked together for 18 years. There is no coach I would rather play for. I have loved my experience here. I certainly couldn't be the player I am today without playing for such a great coach. I see these as all positive things.
"That obviously doesn't sell many newspapers, but to me I have such gratitude towards my time here and I have loved my experience. I continue to love my experience. We have had a great season thus far and hopefully we can write a great ending to this season by going out and playing great in the playoffs."
So, will Brady finish his career in New England? He knows anything can happen.
"I know careers change," Brady said. "They change places. Great players change, coaches change, ownership changes. That is just the way it is. I think there is a humility that you understand that you are not bigger than any of this and I believe that I am certainly not. I love this team. I love this organization and hopefully we can go out and make everybody proud by finishing this season the right way."
