Tom Brady reportedly getting $10 million now instead of over entire season

It appears there's been another tweak to Tom Brady's contract.

According to ESPN's Field Yates, Brady and the Patriots have converted $10 million of his $14 million salary into a signing bonus, which means he gets the cash now and spreads out the cap hit over the final two years of his deal. This goes along with him getting $5 million in performance-based incentives added to his deal.

Basically, Brady was going to get $10 million over the course of the season anyway. Now, he just gets it all at once.

It's also worth noting Brady's cap hit for 2019 is now $27 million, which indicates if he plays next year the team will look to sign him to an extension to spread out the cap hit because it seems highly unlikely it will enter the year with that much cap space being tied to one player.
