Monday night was a big night for Tom Brady.
The quarterback made a trip to Robert Kraft's home to let him know he was planning on leaving the Patriots, and also called Jonathan Kraft and Bill Belichick to let them know as well.
According to the Boston Herald's Karen Guregian, Belichick was "a little shocked."
The report added Brady felt "a huge weight" lifted off his shoulders after the talks and he's now "excited and fired up" for what is to come with his next football chapter.
The quarterback made it official with a series of social media posts Tuesday morning.
It's hard for anyone to be shocked by Brady leaving New England given everything that has taken place dating back to last summer, but there was a belief from some that Brady would ultimately cave and return to New England.
As for where Brady is going, it appears to be the Buccaneers, but nothing is final yet and likely won't be until Wednesday afternoon when free agency officially begins.
