Could Tom Brady have been a member of the Saints in 2020?

If Drew Brees would have retired, it may have been a very real possibility.

According to RADIO.com Sports NFL insider Jason La Canfora, Brady had "very serious interest in the Saints and vice versa."

A signing did not happen because Brees announced on Feb. 18 he would be returning for the 2020 season and a month later he agreed to a two-year, $50 million deal, which was a formality when he said he would not be retiring.

The report adds Brady was watching Brees' decision very closely and if he retired there was a "very real possibility" he would have signed with the Saints as a free agent.

It's worth noting the Saints also had Teddy Bridgewater and Taysom Hill on their roster at the end of last season.

Of course, Brady ultimately signed a two-year deal with the Buccaneers the first week of free agency.

While Brady has a great offense in Tampa Bay, imagine what he could do in New Orleans along with Rob Gronkowski...
