Football fans know Tom Brady for all the things he does on the field, but after his six-part docu-series Tom vs. Time, fans got an inside look at the 40-year-old off the field, especially how he interacts with his family.
Brady went on Good Morning America Monday to discuss the docu-series and what it meant to him.
"Well, it was a really great opportunity. It was perfect timing," he said. "We had come off the Super Bowl [LI] and I guess I was feeling really good when I got asked. Gotham [Chopra], the director, had said I think this is a great opportunity and great timing for us to something like this. It is nice to show so many fans, and we really know from the Facebook community, I think over five million fans. It's great to show the fans a different part of my life. They see so much football and Sunday afternoons, wearing helmets and the intensity and I think athletes are dealing with a lot of other things as well. There are family issues, family issues that you're dealing with — I have three young children and it was great to show all those fans a different part of my life."
Added Brady: "I think it was a great experience for me. I got to share a lot of things that a lot of fans never get a chance to see. I think there's always a balance between a private life and a public life, and I chose a very public profession. So, with the amount of fans that have really enjoyed the show. When I reflect back on the decision of doing it, I think what a great decision because so many people have come up to me and said thanks for doing that.
"It was really cool to see and a lot of young athletes were inspired by the level of work it takes to get to a certain point of your career. I think that has been a great payoff for me. It was a lot of work. We spent a lot of time last offseason and this season a little bit of time, but it turned into a really great series."
The final episode will air Monday at noon on Facebook Watch.
