It appears Trey Flowers will not be re-signing with New England.
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Flowers intends on signing with the Lions and will get to reunite with former defensive coordinator Matt Patricia. His deal is expected to be five years worth $16-17 million per season.
Flowers was the best edge rusher on the market and arguably best overall defensive player.
The Patriots will now need to look to replace him, as more is needed following reportedly trading for Michael Bennett on Friday.
In four years with the Patriots, Flowers totaled 21 sacks and 164 tackles. He did a tremendous job fitting the Patriots' scheme and now will have a similar role in Detroit.
