ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- The Red Sox' 2018 season is off to a good start.

In the second inning against Rays starter Chris Archer, Eduardo Nunez hit a two-run inside-the-park home run to give the Red Sox a quick 3-0 lead. The first run came on a RBI ground out by Rafael Devers.

Nunez hit a line drive to shallow left center where both left fielder Denard Span and center fielder Kevin Kiermaier dove and missed the ball. It rolled all the way to the warning track and by the time the relay throw came, Nunez was rounding third. Instead of a close play at the plate, the ball bounced off the pitchers mound and the Red Sox second baseman dove head-first into home with ease.

It was the second inside-the-park homer of his career, and as pointed out by WEEI's Rob Bradford, it was the second inside-the-park home run by the Red Sox in two of their last three innings dating back to last year's postseason.

Here's the video.
