FOXBOROUGH -- Following Stephen Gostkowski being placed on injured reserve Wednesday, the Patriots worked out a few kickers to take his spot.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, two kickers vying for the job are Kai Forbath and Mike Nugent.

Forbath, 32, has bounced around the league a ton over the years kicking for six teams. Most recently he was with the Jaguars at the end of last year. Overall, he's 120-for-140 on field goals.

Nugent, 37, has kicked for eight teams, most recently the Raiders last season, but was placed on IR in September following suffering a hip injury in Week 3. In 2017, he split his season between the Bears and Cowboys.

The Patriots hosted more than just these two, but it remains to be seen if these two are the finalists or not.

[UPDATE 5:20 p.m.]: According to the Houston Chronicle's Aaron Wilson, here the complete list of kickers Patriots worked out: Kai Forbath, Elliott Fry, Mike Nugent, Blair Walsh and Matthew Wright. NFL Media's Ian Rapoport adds the team likely will not make a signing today and could even bring in more kickers Thursday.
