With Jarrett Stidham and Brian Hoyer as the only two quarterbacks on the Patriots' roster, really anything can happen at the position between now and the start of the season.

While it seems unlikely, Cam Newton and Jameis Winston are still free agents, and who knows what will happen in the coming weeks and months. If either could be had on the cheap, perhaps Bill Belichick and the Patriots would take a shot.

Some don't believe Newton would work with the Patriots, but appearing on First Things First recently, Devin McCourty doesn't believe that is the case.

“Guys come (into New England) and sometimes it works out, sometimes it doesn’t,” he said. “But to just predict guys’ personalities won’t work in New England, or is not a ‘Bill-type of guy,’ I don’t think that’s true. You have to see how things work out if a guy comes to our team. I think Cam Newton is a great player, a proven winner. So, to just say, ‘He wouldn’t work in New England,’ I don’t think that’s correct.”

Just to be clear, Newton to New England is very unlikely, but given the current situation nothing should be ruled out.
