Well, folks, the eagle has landed in Los Angeles. TSN’s John Lu reported Tuesday night that Bruins president Cam Neely, general manager Don Sweeney, and head coach Bruce Cassidy met with John Tavares at the CAA office of Pat Brisson.

If it looks like Lu is staking the CAA offices out, it’s because he is. Of course he is -- John Tavares free agency season is approaching. Tavares is expected to become the second-highest paid active NHLer behind Connor McDavid once this is over.

The Maple Leafs and Islanders had their turns with the coveted center on Monday, then the Sharks went before the Bruins Tuesday. The Stars and the Lightning are next, but Lu indicated the Bruins had the “briefest” meeting of the four teams to court Tavares so far.

If you’re going to overthink the brevity of the meeting, you might as well stay positive. Tavares wants to win, and it couldn’t have taken the Bruins more than two hours to explain how they can help him with that.

Sportsnet's Chris Johnston also reported this morning that Tavares "spent the last couple months reviewing his options and had a 77-page book that contained a deep dive into each of the organizations he was most likely to find appealing."

Sounds like someone who doesn't need hours of convincing.
