The Celtics sent forward Abdel Nader and cash considerations to the Thunder in exchange for guard Rodney Purvis Monday night.
Boston was set to waive Nader, a 2016 second-round pick, Saturday. The 24-year-old played in 48 games with the Celtics as a rookie last season, averaging three points and 10.9 minutes per game.
Purvis, who is also a 24-year-old rising NBA sophomore, played in 16 games with the Magic during the 2017-18 season averaging 6.0 points and 1.7 rebounds.
Regardless, Keith Smith reported the Celtics will "ultimately wave Purvis," who is fully non-guaranteed.
Looks like a salary cap move that will save them $450,000. Danny Ainge gonna Danny Ainge.
