We now have a game time for Bruins-Hurricanes Game 5 on Wednesday. The league announced Monday morning that the game will start at 4 p.m. ET.
It will be one of three Game 5s in Toronto on Wednesday, with Lightning vs. Blue Jackets starting at noon (insert your joke about overtime deja vu here) and Flyers vs. Canadiens scheduled for 8 p.m.
Wednesday could be an elimination game if the Bruins win Monday night to take a 3-1 series lead. If the Hurricanes are able to extend the series to a Game 6, that would be on Thursday at a time to be determined.
Given that it would be a back-to-back situation for the teams, it would make more sense for them to be the 8 p.m. night game rather than having a second straight afternoon game. The potential back-to-back also likely explains why they're not the late game on Wednesday.
For Boston fans, the 4 p.m. start makes for a nice late afternoon/evening doubleheader, as Celtics-Sixers Game 2 begins at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.
