ESPN's Max Kellerman: Patriots fans 'some of the dumbest' in sports

In case you weren't already annoyed enough with ESPN, here's a reminder that Max Kellerman exists, and that he loves to troll Patriots fans.

On Wednesday's edition of "First Take," the talk was naturally about the story from his ESPN colleague Seth Wickersham on discord between Tom Brady, Bill Belichick and Robert Kraft, the responses to the article, and what kind of effect it might have on the field.

After acknowledging that stories like this usually serve to motivate the Patriots if anything, Kellerman launched into a rant about how the story is "pretty obviously true" and how Patriots fans must be stupid to think otherwise.

"The reality to me seems pretty obviously true," Kellerman said. "Patriots fans have been tweeting at me a lot, and really, for the organization that is the smartest in football, they have some of the dumbest fans in sports. Dumb. Dumb. Duuuhhh, dumb. Here are the tweets I get: 'Duhh, uhh, Belichick and Brady and Kraft all denied it. Therefore, why are you keeping it a story?' What do you think they're gonna do? Admit it? How stupid do you have to be? Of course they're gonna deny it! The question is, do you find it credible? Hell yeah, I find it credible."

Kellerman, of course, is very smart. He proved that a year and a half ago when he said Brady was "about to fall off a cliff" and would "be a bum in short order." Since that intelligent piece of analysis, Brady is 27-4 with 67 touchdowns, 13 interceptions, a Super Bowl victory, a Super Bowl MVP and likely an NFL MVP.

When Damien Woody, sitting in with Kellerman and Stephen A. Smith, reminded him that we're still waiting for that cliff, Kellerman took a well-earned victory lap.

"What do you mean waiting? I have eyes! Tom Brady hasn't been excellent. In the last five games, he's been an ordinary quarterback. Go look at tape."

Check. Mate.
