Xander Bogaerts reached 30 home runs and 100 RBIs in Colorado a couple weeks ago, and those feats combined with his 50th double of the season Thursday night in Toronto gained him entry to an exclusive club.
With that two-bagger, Bogaerts became the 20th player in Major League history with 30 home runs, 50 doubles and 100 RBIs in a season, and just the second shortstop to do it (Alex Rodriguez, 1996). David Ortiz (2007) is the only other Red Sox player in the club, although Rafael Devers is just one home run away from making it three.
Bogaerts has improved his numbers across the board this season and could be in position to get some MVP votes despite the Red Sox' disappointing season overall.
