Bruins winger Brad Marchand just can't stay out of trouble.
Earning another run-in with the NHL Department of Player Safety after a cross-check to the face of Philadelphia defenseman Andrew MacDonald on Sunday, Marchand was hit with a $5,000 fine, the maximum allowed under the current NHL CBA, on Monday.

— Pete Blackburn (@PeteBlackburn) April 1, 2018This is Marchand's second fine in less than a month, as the league fined him $2,000 for embellishing on Mar. 9. If you include Marchand's five-game suspension for recklessly elbowing Marcus Johansson in the head Jan. 23, it's his third incident this season.
Overall, Marchand has now been fined and/or suspended on 11 different occasions.
Regardless of his intent, the Bruins must feel pretty lucky to avoid losing Marchand to another suspension, especially with a Tuesday head-to-head against the Lightning on deck. The Bruins currently hold a two-point edge over the Bolts for first place in the Eastern Conference, and still have a game in hand advantage over Tampa Bay.
