Reports: Celtics, Jabari Bird finalizing two-year deal

 The Celtics have signed restricted free agent Jabari Bird to a two-year deal worth a combined $3 million, according to multiple reports. 

Bird, a 2017 second-round pick, had been on a two-way deal with the team during a rookie campaign where he played in 13 total games. He averaged 3.0 points, 1.5 rebounds, and 0.6 assists.


The 24-year-old is coming off a Summer League performance where he shot 57 percent from the floor and averaged 16.8 points, six rebounds, three assists and 1.8 steals in 29.8 minutes. 

The first year is expected to fully guarantee, according to Keith Smith.
