Here is what happened in the Red Sox farm system on Wednesday.
TRIPLE-A PAWTUCKET RED SOX (23-27): W, 4-2 at Norfolk
-- Third baseman Jordan Betts finished 3-for-4 in five plate appearances, tallying a double, an RBI, and one run scored. Rusney Castillo went 2-for-5 with two runs scored in the win.
-- Fernando Rodriguez Jr. was credited with the win, striking out four working three innings of shutout ball.
-- Ryan Brasier earned the save, his fifth of the year. Brasier currently owns a 2.13 ERA in 19 games.
DOUBLE-A PORTLAND SEA DOGS (17-34): L, 5-3 at New Hampshire
-- The Sea Dogs' 10 hits were not enough to overcome the Fisher Cats. New Hampshire rallied for two runs in the bottom of the eighth to take the lead for good. Portland's Mike Shawaryn went six innings, surrendering only two runs on four hits, while striking out seven, but ended up with a no decision.
-- Jantzen Witte went 2-for-5 in the loss with two doubles. The 28-year-old is now tied for first on the team in doubles with nine on the season.
-- Austin Maddox was unable to hold New Hampshire late in the contest. The righty was tagged with two earned runs on three hits through two innings, and was charged with the loss. He's working his way back into the Red Sox bullpen following suffering an injury in spring training.
HIGH-A SALEM RED SOX (23-25): Game postponed (rain) vs Potomac
SINGLE-A GREENVILLE DRIVE (13-37): L, 9-6 vs Augusta - W, 5-4 vs Augusta
-- The Drive split a doubleheader with the Green Jackets. The first tilt, a loss, was a completion of a game suspended on May 20. Jagger Rusconi ended 2-for-4 in the setback with a double and two runs scored.
-- Taylor Ahearn pitched 2 2/3 innings, striking out four, while allowing one earned run.
-- Marino Campana helped Greenville salvage Game 2 with a walk-off home run to center in the bottom of the seventh. The 20-year-old went 1-for-2 in four plate appearances, finishing with an RBI and two runs scored. Victor Acosta went 2-for-3 with a home run, two RBIs and a run scored.
-- Devon Fisher kept the game tied going into the bottom of the seventh, pitching two shutout innings.
