Tuesday Red Sox Farm Report: Adam Lind’s late home run lifts PawSox to win

Here’s what happened in the Red Sox farm system on Monday.

TRIPLE-A PAWTUCKET RED SOX (38-37): W, 3-2 at Buffalo

-- A two-run home run in the eighth inning by Adam Lind (1-for-3) helped the PawSox to a win, and a record exceeding the .500 mark. The 34-year-old is hitting .267 in 22 games with the club.

-- Rusney Castillo and Ivan De Jesus Jr. each added a 2-for-4 performance. Castillo leads the team with a .319 average in 288 at-bats. De Jesus Jr. collected a single and his 10th double of the year, lifting his average to .277, good for second place on the team.

-- Josh A. Smith (now 1-2 with a 12.54 ERA in four games since coming over from Tacoma) picked up the win in two scoreless innings of relief for starter Josh D. Smith (4-3 with a 2.61 ERA and .207 opposing average in seven starts). Ryan Brasier earned his 11th save of the season and lowered his ERA to 1.50.

DOUBLE-A PORTLAND SEA DOGS (29-46): W, 8-6 at New Hampshire

-- The Sea Dogs used a seven-run fourth inning to pick up a win on the road. Tate Matheny (1-for-4) hit a grand slam with no outs in the fourth, his first home run of the season. Chad De La Guerra (2-for-5) followed with a two-run home run with two outs in the fourth. The 25-year-old second baseman also hit a solo home run in the sixth giving him eight for the year and raising his average to .269.

-- Jordan Betts went 2-for-4 in the game with a double, raising his average to .250.

-- Dedgar Jimenez earned the win after going five innings (four runs on five hits with five strikeouts) to raise his record to 3-6. The 22-year-old lefty from Venezuela, who signed with the Red Sox in 2012, has a 5.96 ERA in 14 starts (74 innings) for the Sea Dogs. Trevor Kelley and Matthew Gorst each threw two innings of relief for Jimenez, with Gorst picking up his first save of the year.

SINGLE-A GREENVILLE DRIVE (27-47): W, 8-3 at Rome

-- Lorenzo Cedrola raised his season average to .323 with a 3-for-4 day. The 20-year-old scored three runs for the Drive while adding a double (14th) and an RBI. Cedrola is third on the team in average and first on the team in runs scored.

-- Shortstop Ryan Fitzgerald went 2-for-4 and drove in two RBIs. Tanner Nishioka also finished 2-for-4, giving the third baseman a team leading .346 batting average.

-- Starter Kutter Crawford went five innings giving up two earned runs on six hits and striking out five to raise his record to 2-3. The 22-year-old also lowered his ERA to 2.96. Angel Padron earned his second save in four innings of relief, striking out two.

SHORT-SEASON, SINGLE-A LOWELL SPINNERS (5-6): W, 11-2 at Brooklyn

-- Eduard Bazardo pitched six scoreless innings and struck out five to earn his first win of the year.

-- Sixth and seventh-round selections from this past month's draft Jarren Duran and Devlin Granburg each recorded multi-hit games. Duran (.310 batting average) went 2-for-6 and drove in three runs while Granburg went 2-for-4, doubling once and scoring twice. Kole Cottam, the Red Sox 2018 fourth round pick, also picked up three RBIs.

-- Ramfis Berroa went 3-for-5 with two RBIs to give him four for the year, raising his average to .294.
