Tuesday Red Sox Farm Report: Tzu-Wei Lin picks up 2 hits in Pawtucket loss

Here's what happened in the Red Sox farm system on Monday.

TRIPLE-A PAWTUCKET RED SOX (39-43), L, 6-2 vs. Rochester


-- Mike Ohlman went 1-for-3 and drove in both of the team's RBIs. The 2009 11th-round pick by the Orioles now has 23 RBIs to go along with a .234 average. Tzu-Wei Lin raised his Triple-A batting average to .304 in the loss. The 24-year-old collected two hits in four at-bats and scored one run.

-- Drew Pomeranz was hit hard in his rehab assignment. The lefty was charged with the loss through 2 2/3 innings of work, walking two while giving up five runs on four hits.

DOUBLE-A PORTLAND SEA DOGS (31-50), W, 5-3 vs. Binghamton

-- Jantzen Witte and Josh Ockimey combined for four RBIs in the game. Witte (.271) finished 2-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBIs. Ockimey (.257) drove in two runs on two hits and went 2-for-4. Luke Tendler also picked up an RBI on a 3-for-4 day. The 26-year-old outfielder has a .269 average in 219 at-bats with eight home runs and 40 RBIs.

-- Starter Matthew Kent went 6 1/3 innings and struck out six while giving up two runs on nine hits but ended up with the no decision. The 25-year-old, drafted in Round 13 by the Red Sox in 2015, is 5-5 with a 3.72 ERA and 77 strikeouts through 77 1/3 innings.

-- Travis Lakins picked up the win in relief for Kent. Lakins, now 1-2, pitched 1 2/3 innings, to lower his ERA to 2.83. Josh Taylor earned his fourth save of the year, giving up one run, but striking out two in one inning of work.

HIGH-A SALEM RED SOX (37-42), L, 6-3 at Down East

-- Tanner Houck, the Red Sox No. 3 prospect according to MLB.com, dropped to 3-10 on the season, striking out nine, but surrendering four runs on four hits while walking five. Houck's ERA is now 5.32.

-- Michael Osinski and Bobby Dalbec each picked up RBIs in a game where Salem went 1-for-8 with runners in scoring position. Osinski is hitting .333 in 12 at-bats since being called up from Greenville, and .301 total between both clubs.

SINGLE-A GREENVILLE DRIVE (29-52), L, 6-2 vs. Charleston

-- The Drive used a two-run seventh inning to avoid the shutout. Kervin Suarez doubled in a run (his 24th RBI) and later scored while Tanner Nishioka (1-for-5) was also credited with an RBI. Ryan Fitzgerald went 2-for-4 to lift his average to .256.

-- Emmanuel De Jesus gave up four runs while striking out five through five innings of work, inflating his ERA to 3.69. Angel Padron surrendered two additional runs in relief for De Jesus, tossing three innings of four hit ball while striking out six.

SHORT SEASON, SINGLE-A LOWELL SPINNERS (8-9), W, 3-1 vs. Connecticut

-- Tyler Dearden, drafted in the 29th round in 2017 by the Red Sox, went 2-for-4 with two doubles while also scoring twice. The 19-year-old has five doubles this year, hitting .326 in 43 at-bats.

-- Michael Chavis went hitless in three at-bats in his first game back since his suspension.

-- Andrew Politi saved the game, his first of the season, for starter Eduard Bazardo, who improved to 2-2. Bazardo went five innings, giving up only one run on three hits while striking out eight. The 22-year-old out of Maracay, Venezuela lowered his ERA to 3.15.
