We still don't know a whole lot about Charlie McAvoy's injury, but we do know the rookie defenseman won't be playing Tuesday night against the Red Wings. Coach Bruce Cassidy confirmed that to reporters at practice Monday, saying McAvoy would be evaluated Monday afternoon.
Cassidy also said Tuukka Rask will likely miss Tuesday's game as he continues to battle a "minor injury" that forced him to miss Saturday's game against Montreal.
McAvoy suffered a "lower body injury" 37 seconds into Saturday's game and did not return. While it initially appeared he had been the victim of a Brendan Gallagher slash, replay showed Gallagher's stick actually missed McAvoy, making it tough to figure out exactly what happened or what the injury might be.
