Melissa Rocheleau, 37, breast cancer, Hanson
In February 2025, Melissa, a registered nurse at South Shore Hospital, noticed a lump in her breast while showering. She waited a few days to see if anything would change, and ultimately ended up at urgent care after learning her primary care physician couldn’t see her for a few weeks. She was referred for an ultrasound and mammogram and on March 18, was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma, a type of breast cancer.
