Quinn Waters was experiencing nausea, balance issues, and apraxia, a neurological condition that makes it difficult or impossible to make certain movements, even though your muscles are normal, and you have the understanding and desire to make movements. Quinn was taken to a local hospital where he was diagnosed with medulloblastoma the day after his third birthday.
Quinn’s treatment has been surgery, chemotherapy, and a stem cell transplant. Quinn was stable until January 2021, when three new tumors were discovered after his proton radiation treatment. Quinn still has residual brain cancer issues, but he is thriving today with surveillance visits.
Jarlath Waters was visiting family in Ireland in May 2025. While checking in for departure at Dublin Airport, Jarlath became confused, suffered from apraxia, and had back-to-back seizures. The seizure caused him to fall and sustain multiple fractures to his face and tooth loss. He was taken to the hospital where he was placed into a medically induced coma. X-rays revealed a mass on his left frontal lobe. Jaralth’s wife, Tara, received a call from her brother-in-law, and she knew Jarlath had a brain tumor, after years of dealing with their son, Quinn’s diagnosis.
Jarlath had surgery and radiation at a Boston hospital. His care transferred over to Dana-Farber where he began chemotherapy. Jarlath’s scans have shown consistent shrinkage in the tumor cavity.
