Tobias Paddock, 70, esophageal cancer, Cambridge, with Marios Giannakis, MD, Medical Oncologist, Center for Gastrointestinal Oncology, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute
In March 2024, a few weeks before a planned European river cruise, Tobias Paddock experienced difficulty swallowing. He and his wife, Carol, thought it would be wise to visit his doctor before their trip to rule out anything serious. An endoscopy revealed a tumor in his esophagus. The following week, the couple went on their trip as planned, with Tobias arranging appointments from the ship deck. By the time they returned, he had an appointment scheduled at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
