Having a front-row seat behind your team's bench at an NHL game has its perks. You get to see and even hear all kinds of interactions throughout a game that the rest of us don't. Sometimes you might even get a puck or stick as a souvenir.
And if you're one Bruins fan who was sitting behind Bruce Cassidy in Carolina on Thursday, having such a great seat also offered an opportunity to share some suggestions with the Boston coach.
With the Bruins trailing 2-0 in the third period, TV cameras caught a fan holding his phone up against the glass right next to Cassidy's face. No, he wasn't trying to take some sort of selfie or close-up photo. Instead, he had a message for Cassidy typed out in giant font:
HALL
BERGY
PASTA
Apparently this fan believed the key to a Bruins comeback was to split up the usual top line by dropping Brad Marchand down and moving Taylor Hall up to play with Patrice Bergeron and David Pastrnak.
Regardless of whether you think that would have been a good idea, you have to admit it's a pretty creative way to try to get Cassidy's attention. The earnestness in his face really adds to the moment, too. The Bruins ended up losing 3-0, so hey, maybe it wouldn't have hurt.
In other fan interaction news, there was also this Hurricanes fan for Bruins players to contend with when they went to the penalty box.
