The Bruins will be a bit shorthanded up front for Thursday night's rematch with the Penguins.
Coach Bruce Cassidy said Wednesday that winger Jake DeBrusk would miss at least one game after suffering a lower-body injury Tuesday night. Cassidy said he is "day-to-day."
DeBrusk took a hard, clean hip check from Sidney Crosby early in the first period and missed his next couple shifts. He returned for two shifts later in the period, but then took another hard hit to the hip or thigh area from Brandon Tanev and did not return after that.
Goalie Tuukka Rask also got banged up Tuesday when he appeared to hurt something in his lower body while stretching to try to make a save in the third period. Rask stayed in the game, though.
Cassidy said Rask wasn't feeling 100% on Wednesday, but that he was already scheduled to get Thursday off anyways, with Jaroslav Halak slated to get the start. Cassidy said the hope is Rask will be ready for Saturday's game in Washington.
On defense, the Bruins could get some help with the potential return of Matt Grzelcyk on Thursday. Grzelcyk has missed the last two games with a lower-body injury, but was close to returning Tuesday -- he was actually initially listed as active before a late change. Cassidy said he's "trending well" and could play Thursday.
With David Pastrnak not expected to return until Saturday at the earliest, it looks like, based on Wednesday's practice lines, that Cassidy's approach is going to be to load up the top two lines, including moving Charlie Coyle to wing, elevate the fourth line to third-line status, and bring in Par Lindholm to center a new-look fourth line.
Here were Wednesday's lines:
