David Pastrnak breaks a Czech record that was held by Jaromir Jagr

If you're a Czech hockey player and you've broken a record held by Jaromir Jagr, you have done something pretty remarkable.

Bruins star David Pastrnak can now say he's done that. Pastrnak has been named the Czech Player of the Year for a fifth straight year, breaking a tie with Jagr for the most consecutive wins in the 53-year history of the "Golden Hockey Stick."

Pastrnak had 48 points (20 goals, 28 assists) in 48 games last season -- a drop-off from his previous two seasons, but still good enough to edge out Tampa Bay's Ondrej Palat by a voting points margin of 492-472. The award is voted on by Czech hockey journalists and coaches.

David Krejci, who won the award in 2013, finished third in voting and now has more top-10 finishes (11) than anyone other than Jagr and Dominik Hasek. Krejci is returning home to play in the Czech Republic this season, although both Don Sweeney and Bruce Cassidy have left the door open to a possible return to the Bruins at some point.

With his fifth win, Pastrnak is now tied with Hasek for the second-most ever. He still has a ways to go catch Jagr for that record, though, as the one-time Bruin and future Hall of Famer won the award 12 times in total.
