The Bruins have been hit with their first supplemental discipline of the postseason.
The NHL Department of Player Safety announced on Tuesday that it has fined Boston forward Jake DeBrusk $5,000 -- the maximum allowable under the CBA -- for cross-checking Islanders defenseman Scott Mayfield.
The incident occurred during the third period of Monday night's Game 2 as the two battled in front of the New York net. There was no penalty called on the play at the time. Here's the video:
This is the first supplemental discipline DeBrusk has received during his four-year career.
