For the first time since before COVID, the Bruins got to make their annual Halloween visits to local children's hospitals on Monday.
And you know what that means: Costumes!
This year's theme was Nintendo characters. Naturally, Patrice Bergeron and Brad Marchand were Mario and Luigi, respectively. Goalies Linus Ullmark and Jeremy Swayman were Toad and Bowser, respectively.
Brandon Carlo dressed as Donkey Kong, Charlie Coyle got Yoshi, and Nick Foligno was Wario. Derek Forbort drew the short straw and had to be Princess Peach.
"I have to stop and get gas before we go, so I might get a couple looks," Forbort said.
Regardless of who was wearing what, everyone was glad to be able to make these visits in person for the first time since 2019.
"I think it's just a special day, to be able to go and share a moment with the kids," Bergeron said. "The kids are going through a lot. The families are going through a lot. To be able to be there and just brighten up their day as much as we can and bring up a smile or two. I think the costumes always help for that."
