Listen: Mike Milbury calls Taylor Hall 'a chronic underachiever,' says Bruins made mistake re-signing him

Taylor Hall hasn't quite found the success this season with the Bruins as he did when he first came over from Buffalo last year.

After recording 14 points in his first 16 games in Boston -- all of which were played with David Krejci as his center -- Hall now has 14 points (5 goals, 9 assists) in 25 games so far this season. Beyond the point totals, Hall has twice been demoted to the third line in-game.

Making his weekly appearance on The Greg Hill Show Thursday morning, former Bruins defenseman and coach Mike Milbury was asked about Hall, and did not hold back.

"He won an MVP award a couple years ago, but for me, he's a chronic underachiever," Milbury said. "In my mind, he's not gonna go anywhere that you want him to go in terms of being a winner. He's never played on a really successful team. He's never played a critical role on a successful team.

"I don't think he gets it. That's my feeling on Taylor Hall. I think it was a mistake to re-sign him. I think his playoff performance last year was underachieving for the most part. He's along for the ride. Any time you have a guy that's along for the ride, it's not a good thing."

The Bruins signed Hall to a four-year, $24 million extension over the summer.
