"Barbie Girl" got all the attention after the Bruins' win over the Flyers at Lake Tahoe thanks to David Pastrnak, but it turns out there was another great moment involving a different song.
As the final horn sounded on Boston's 7-3 win, The Standells' "Dirty Water" began playing, as it has after every Bruins home win since 1995.
Trent Frederic, the emerging fan favorite forward who is younger than that tradition, had already been part of a handful of home wins prior to Tahoe, but he apparently did not make the connection until that moment.
On the latest episode of "Behind the B," which covers the Tahoe game, Frederic is captured reflecting on "Dirty Water" on the walk back to the dressing room, and you can pretty much hear it dawn on him in real time that it might be his team's victory song.
"That Boston's song?," he asks, followed by, "Am I supposed to know it?"
While someone else can be heard laughing (an understandable reaction), Patrice Bergeron -- ever the leader and too nice a person to roast anyone -- reassuringly informs him that it "says it in the lyrics, but it's OK."
Not gonna lie, it reminds me a little of this classic moment of Carolina Panthers wide receiver Robby Anderson learning about his team's mascot:
Anyway, the episode also features a couple other classic mic'd up moments from Frederic, who is a legitimate local if not national treasure.
And in the longer clip of the postgame tunes, you also get a little bit of "Barbie Girl":
