The Celtics are still looking to fill out their front office. And they've zeroed in on three candidates in their search for a general manager to work under Brad Stevens, according to Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report.
Fischer writes that Landry Fields is the possible front-runner, but to also "keep an eye on" Nets assistant GM Jeff Peterson and Pelicans assistant GM Bryson Graham.
Fields played five seasons in the NBA before moving into a scouting role with the Spurs. He's currently the GM of their G League affiliate.
Ime Udoka, of course, worked as an assistant coach for Gregg Popovich from 2012-19.
Though Danny Ainge left the organization, his son, Austin, remains the assistant general manager. Mike Zarren is also still the vice president of basketball operations.
With that framework in mind, the next Celtics' general manager will probably be one voice in a cohesive process. They don't seem to be in a hurry to fill the vacancy, riding into the NBA Draft and free agency with Stevens, Ainge and Zarren.
Last month, the Celtics traded Kemba Walker and the No. 16 overall pick to the Thunder for Al Horford. It was Stevens' first significant move as president of basketball operations.
