The two-man game between Jaylen Brown and Kristaps Porzingis stole the show in the Celtics’ 119-116 win over the Milwaukee Bucks, creating space for each other with pick-and-rolls and feeding each other alley-oops.

Scal on whether Jaylen Brown is doing enough

Brown, who has been known his entire career as a scorer, is also taking a step forward as a playmaker this season.

“I feel like I’ve been doing it all season long,” he said. “Definitely just another part of my game that I’ve been growing. This is a new year, this is a new season, and I feel like I’m playing some of my best basketball, just how I’m seeing the floor. And as I get into a flow and a rhythm of things, I feel like I’ll be able to continue to do that. And I think that when I get it going, more guys playing off me, trusting that I’m going to make the right read, I think we should go to that  a lot more.”

Brown finished the game with 26 points, eight assists (a season high), two rebounds, and one steal. Brown was able to score efficiently, shooting 10-of-16 from the field and 3-of-5 from behind the arc.

Porzingis finished the night scoring 21 points and secured six rebounds while also providing a smooth assist to Brown that led to one of the best dunks of the season.

When asked about the chemistry between the duo, Porzingis said, “I absolutely love playing with JB. We’re starting to connect more and more and it’s becoming natural for us.”

Many fans were concerned about Brown losing his spot as the second option to Porzingis, but the combination of Brown’s explosiveness and Porzingis’ threat as a scorer from both the interior and exterior have allowed for the duo to thrive when playing with each other.

Instead of taking away from each other, the duo is creating for one another, and the connection between the duo should only get stronger.
