The Celtics will be extremely shorthanded for their game against the Heat Sunday night. The team announced Sunday afternoon that all nine players who were listed on the injury report Saturday have been ruled out.
Most notably, that means new additions Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, Semi Ojeleye and Javonte Green have all been downgraded to out due to health and safety protocols.
Tatum reportedly tested positive for COVID-19 after Friday night's win over the Wizards and was initially listed as doubtful as the team reportedly waited on the results of a confirmation test. This would seemingly confirm that it was not a false positive, although nothing has been officially announced.
Brown, Ojeleye and Green were all added Saturday as questionable, presumably because of close contact, but are all now out as well.
Robert Williams, Tristan Thompson and Grant Williams were already in the health and safety protocols after Robert Williams reportedly tested positive on Friday, and are all expected to miss at least a week.
Kemba Walker (left knee) and Romeo Langford (right wrist) remain out as well.
That all leaves the Celtics with the minimum eight active players needed to play a game. Those eight are: Marcus Smart, Payton Pritchard, Jeff Teague, Carsen Edwards, Tremont Waters, Aaron Nesmith, Daniel Theis and Tacko Fall.
