
It’s not everyday Kevin Garnett turns up to a Celtics game, never mind get his number retired. So it’s no surprise the franchise decorated the Garden with KG’s image on Sunday.
The Celtics also broke out some old video from KG’s playing days, but not just the highlight reels you might expect — like this cringeworthy video of Shaquille O'Neal singing while Garnett played hype man.
As expected, some of Garnett’s old teammates showed up for his big day. Kendrick Perkins, Eddie House, James Posey and Glen Davis all showed up in a party bus before the game. But they weren’t the only ones from the 2008 championship team in Boston Sunday.
There’d been speculation Ray Allen would attend Sunday’s event despite the fallout between him and his former Celtics teammates. Before tipoff, the sharpshooter was spotted at TD Garden.
While his old teammates filed in, Garnett was busy making the rounds. He swung by the Celtics’ locker room and the training room, checking in with Boston’s current players
