Just when it appeared as though the Celtics were swooping in on New Orleans star Jrue Holiday along came their Eastern Conference rivals.
According to multiple reports, the Bucks fired a major shot when it comes to the balance of power in the East by acquiring Holiday for Eric Bledsoe, George Hill and three first-round picks.
In some eyes, the haul is along the lines of what New Orleans received from the Lakers in exchange for Anthony Davis.
One of the top defensive players in the NBA, Holiday also averaged 19.1 points and 6.7 assists last season. He is paid $25.4 million for the 2020-21 season, with a player option for the following season.
Milwaukee didn't stop there, going on to also trade for Bogdan Bogdanovic from Sacramento for Donte DiVincenzo, D.J. Wilson and Ersan Ilyasova.
Some were surmising the Celtics would be constructing a deal that might send Gordon Hayward or Kemba Walker along with their first-round draft picks for Holiday.
