The Celtics have made a move in free agency. And, well, it's an interesting one. According to Shams Charania, the Celtics have agreed to a one-year deal with center Enes Kanter.

Kanter himself appears to have confirmed the deal with the following tweet:

Kanter, of course, played for the Celtics in 2019-20, averaging 8.1 points and 7.4 rebounds in 58 games. The Celtics then traded him in a money-saving move to Portland last offseason in a deal that also saw them give up a late first-round pick (Desmond Bane) and get back two future second-round picks.

Kanter played all 72 games for the Trail Blazers last season, averaging 11.2 points and 11 rebounds in 24 minutes per game.

He now helps replace the guy who was brought in as a replacement/upgrade over him last year -- Tristan Thompson. The Celtics were in the market for another big after trading Thompson last week, and Kanter will now join Robert Williams and Al Horford in the Celtics frontcourt.

According to MassLive's Brian Robb, Kanter's one-year contract is expected to be for just under $3 million.
