Danilo Gallinari went down in the middle of Italy’s World Cup qualifying contest against Georgia on Saturday with a left knee injury, which was initially feared to be a torn ACL. The new Celtics forward did not re-injure his surgically repaired ACL, but he will be on the shelf for a while.
Gallinari has been diagnosed with a torn meniscus in his left knee. The Italian national team also made a point to disclose Gallinari suffered no damage to his ACL or other ligaments in his left knee.
