The 2022 NBA Finals got a little testy when Celtics fans rained f-bombs on Golden State star Draymond Green during Game 3 at TD Garden.
The Warriors didn't seem to appreciate the profane heckling at the time, and judging by their postgame celebration after clinching their fourth championship in eight years on Thursday night, they weren't about to let it go.
Warriors players were seen trolling Celtics fans with chants of "f--- Draymond!" while dousing each other in champagne in the visitors' locker room after Game 6.
The initial episode had seemed to strike a nerve with the Warriors and their supporters, with Klay Thompson sarcastically calling Celtics fans "classy" and Green's wife questioning their decency when she wondered "are they not human?"
NBA commissioner Adam Silver even weighed in, although he didn't seem especially bothered about it.
“I want fans to enjoy themselves,” Silver said during a radio appearance last week. “Of course, as the league office, you want to see it done with respect for all the participants, but I get it. I love the energy that the Boston fans bring to the game.”
But as with Finals MVP Stephen Curry getting the last word in his feud with a Boston bar and restaurant that had criticized his wife's cooking, it seems like the Warriors were all too happy to get in one final shot by throwing the taunt back at the famously passionate fans of Boston.
