Fauria: Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum more 'Robin' than 'Batman'

What is wrong with the Celtics? The guys on OMF did their best Thursday to once again try and figure that out.

But it was Christian Fauria who surfaced perhaps the most demoralizing potential reality with this team: The Celtics' two best players might not be good enough.

"I don't know if either one of these guys are Batman-type guys," said Fauria of the team's two All-Stars, Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum. "I feel like they are both Robins. They're both on the court at the same time and they are both acting like Batman. They probably need somebody else playing that role. Just taking more heat off of them."

The easy answer when it comes to supporting Brown and Tatum would be finding production from Kemba Walker.

But another big part of the problem for the 15-17 Celtics has been Walker's ineffectiveness, another issue highlighted by Fauria.

"You have max players and you're not getting max production from them. That's a problem," said Fauria, referring to Walker, who is owed just more than $73 million this season and next. "If you're going to have a max player you better be getting max production of him. Your team is set up that way. So the fact that he is not producing, or if you look at his numbers … really. You have two of the best players in the league and what people used to think was the best coach in the league and Kemba Walker, 37.5 percent from the floor. 34.9 from three. That's not max production. That's pathetic. No wonder Danny is trying to shop him. Of course you would.

"So, how do you fix it? Fine, you have to be a seller. Who are you going to sell? You don't want to give up your studs. You really want to sell Kemba Walker. Who is buying him? Who is buying him? Nobody is stupid enough to take that contract."
